Seven Lions stated this about the album “During the pandemic, I had a lot of time to myself, a lot of time to just go for walks with my dog Khaleesi. A lot of these songs are inspired by what I was listening to at that time, when I was just alone, walking through the forest. Tonally, this album shifted my sound a bit to a more organic sound, and one that is less reliant on synths. This album is the first and possibly last album for me. I had an amazing time writing it and I feel like I got to tell a story that I normally can’t tell in just an EP or single. Definitely one for the long time fans. It’s something I’m incredibly proud of.” He mentions how this is his first and possibly last album which will leave many fans wondering what is next for the Seven Lions Project.

There was a lot of build-up for the album throughout the year he teased the album all across his tour and at many major festivals like Electric Zoo, North Coast Festival, Firefly Festival, and EDC Vegas. He was periodically dropping singles which helped add to the hype. Some of his fans have been patiently waiting for this release for months or even years and it doesn’t disappoint.

Seven Lions on Twitter: "As a lot of you probably know, we've all been working on some original music together for their project @GemandTauri, and this week, it's finally coming out. Hope

Leading up to the release of ‘Beyond The Veil’ he also released a mini-documentary called Ten Years – A Seven Lions Documentary. The almost twenty minutes long documentary dives into how it all began and how the project has constantly evolved over the years. It tells the story of Jeff Montalvo aka Seven Lions not only from his perspective but from people who have been around for his entire journey like his wife Emma Montalvo and his agent Matt Rodriguez.

Seven Lions helped create the melodic dubstep genre in the early 2010s and he continues to grow and push the genre forward. He is constantly challenging the boundaries of the genre with his sound. Melodic dubstep has turned into one of the most popular genres in the EDM scene with producers like Illenium, Slander, Jason Ross, and Said The Sky playing mainstages at major festivals across the globe.

Seven Lions currently only has one show left of his 2022 tour which will be at Belly Up in Aspen, Colorado on December 2nd with Gem & Tauri. Stay tuned to see if he announces any more shows for 2022 or see what he may have in store for early 2023. Make sure to check out ‘Beyond The Veil’ on all the streaming platforms to show your support.
