6 Reasons To Get Excited for Suwannee Hulaween 2022

Suwanee Hulaween is the nation’s premier Halloween music event. Every year, the four-day festival enlists world-class talent on a cozy campground for a weekend to remember. Plus, with multiple stages, shops, and artwork as far as the eye can see, festival-goers never encounter a dull moment. There are dozens of reasons you should already mentally be at Hulaween, but we’ve narrowed it down to a few of our favorites.

If you haven’t already, grab your tickets and camping passes on Hulaween’s website.

The Headliners

Hulaween has historically brought a stacked roster of headliners to Suwannee each Halloween weekend, and 2022 is no different. With names like Fisher, STS9, and Jauz on the schedule, there’s something for every type of music fan to get down to.

Six Cheese Sets

Yes – you read that right. The String Cheese Incident is preparing to play six unforgettable sets at Hulaween this year. This should come as no surprise, as the band has headlined the festival since its inception nine years ago. However, the Colorado-based bluegrass band returns each year with something more special in store than the last. Fans won’t want to miss The String Cheese in action, especially their Saturday night performance.

Wakaan Takeover

Label boss Liquid Stranger will be hosting the first Wakaan takeover at Hulaween, putting on some of the most sought-after acts in the experimental bass music scene. Starting Thursday at 4:05 PM sharp, he’ll be bringing out Tape B, Zingara, Canabliss, Ravenscoon, Tripp St., and Jantsen (in that order). The Wakaan takeover will welcome dubstep fans and any open-minded souls that happen upon Spirit Lake during the beautiful mayhem.

Femme House Takeover

LP Giobbi’s Femme House is one of the most innovative endeavors in the dance music space right now. Not only is she putting on a massive roster of talented women, but she’s making dance music education more accessible to all. Femme House creates a safe space for women, BIPOC, and non-male creators, perfect for Hulaween’s inclusive atmosphere. Catch artists like Riva & Bianca, Hunlee, Kaleena Zanders, Miane, Ultra Naté, Elohim, and Tokimonsta at Spirit Lake all day Saturday.

The Venue

Spirit of Suwannee Music Park is a mystical place that doesn’t compare to anywhere else in the world. Fans will find comfort in the morning sun shining through moss-drenched oak trees, the eerie silence and gentle fog flowing out of Spirit Lake, and the abundance of campground amenities. There’s truly no place like Suwannee, but you must experience it for yourself to believe it.

The Festival-Goers

Hulaween isn’t the Hulaween without you. Each person walking the grounds of Suwanee helps shape the festival into the magical wooded hideaway its become known as. All of the reasons above might bring you to the festival, but the loving energy pouring out of the hearts of the Hulaween family will have you coming back each year.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
