Illenium Proposes to Girlfriend During Vacation in Italy

Grammy-nominated producer Illenium and his girlfriend Lara McWhorter took a trip to Italy with a surprise ending.

Nick Miller a.k.a. Illenium has been with his girlfriend Lara for the past three years. They met while Lara was a student at the University of Colorado Boulder and began their relationship in January of 2019.

Not long after the two got together, Lara had a medical emergency while in Paris with Illenium, prompting the artist to cancel a series of shows. During the trip, Lara ended up being hospitalized for five days, but thankfully her boyfriend stayed by her side.

Since then, Lara has accompanied Illenium across the world for many shows and festivals. So far for 2022 she’s touched down at Lights All Night, Ultra, Coachella, and more. Even more exciting, Lara attended the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards by Illenium’s side.

Illenium and Lara are currently on a trip to Italy where he got down on one knee at Lake Como. The artist shared a touching photo set with a caption that reads, “She said YES!!! I love this hooman so incredibly much and am so lucky to get to share a life with such a kind, beautiful, strong woman! Love you babe!!”

Prior to her involvement with Illenium, Lara was an Instagram model and student. She also had an extensive history as a visual artist, a talent that she eventually used to help Illenium with his project. In fact, Lara is the artist behind Illenium’s ‘Fallen Embers’ album cover.

Illenium and Lara live together in Denver with their dog, Peanut. Peanut is a sweet little dachshund that the couple adopted together shortly after they began dating. The two just celebrated Peanut’s third birthday in March with an adorable puppy cake. We’re so excited to learn more about the couple’s engagement and to watch them continue to thrive together.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!

What's your reaction?
