ZEDS DEAD DROPS EXPLOSIVE “WE ARE DEADBEATS (VOL. 4)”

The highly recognized duo of Zeds Dead has done it again with their latest release “We Are Deadbeats Vol. 4”. Although Vol. 4 slaps, its release is actually the precursory compilation to another album soon to be released, a work precariously perched on the distant horizon. If any of the music from this album sounds familiar, it should, Zeds Dead has been teasing songs from this collection in their live sets for a while now, testing the waters with loyal fans.

The album comes off, holistically, as a set, showcasing a clear beginning, middle, and end. Its inaugural track, “Asteroid” feat. Holly, composes an uproarious buildup, culminating in static-filled wubs. After the drop, the track shifts gears and dives head first into airy, tribal vocals before eventually circling back. The second track off the album, the highly anticipated Subtronics collaboration titled “Bumpy Teeth,” spits those machine-like chomps Subtronics is known for while also staying true to Zeds Dead’s casual, trippy vibes. A standout from the album would undeniably be “Shake,” a track fans certainly might recognize from live sets. Jauz and Zeds Dead dish wild womps alongside the patter of what sounds like bongo drums and other heavy percussion – not to mention the drop is unique and raw. The Slushii feature “Drifting” is also worth mentioning, not just because it’s the final track, but because the refrain right before the drop is outlandishly catchy.

All in all, this latest collection is unstoppable and the lovers of “wubs” vote in glutenous favor of the official second Deadbeats album to be released contemporaneously – this one is live but for artists as talented as Zeds Dead, the more music the merrier.

In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
