MIZE Announces ‘Final Piece’ for Upcoming ‘Closure’ Project Following Allegations

Dubstep artist, MIZE, has taken to Instagram to announce the final piece of his project, ‘Closure,’ amid various allegations of sexual misconduct.

The dubstep producer and DJ, Mize has been surrounded by sexual abuse allegations for the better part of the last few years. Most recently he has taken to Instagram to announce the final part of his upcoming project, ‘Closure.’

Mize posted a note on Instagram talking about this most recent drop of his. In his post he shares, “I deeply miss performing and sharing art with the world but the wounds are so deep and full of salt that the idea of stepping on stage again is just not viable within my being.”

Mize continues to write, “Recently, I began to write again to just process things and I finally realized it was all just an attempt at gaining closure. I finally found my next chapter, my new calling, and the next adventure so I felt I needed to close the previous. Lessons were learned. Friends and memories were made. Regardless of the fact I walked into hell itself, I know I gave everything I had every time I walked on stage.”

In the third slide of the post, Mize shares a tracklist of this upcoming project that features many remixes of popular songs from various artists of different genres spanning from Coldplay to Kanye. There are a total of 23 tracks to be released.

Mize however is embattled with multiple sexual abuse allegations that were brought to light by two different women. One woman claimed that he took her hand to touch himself inappropriately after a show in Colorado. A second story came to light on Reddit that mentioned a rape that occurred in August of 2021 in North Carolina. This woman has chosen to remain private.

The second story involves sexual and physical abuse at the hands of Mize. In addition, there have been claims that he has been sexually inappropriate with minors over his time as a major DJ on the scene. Seemingly to rid himself of these allegations, Mize, is discussing how music gave him closure, conveniently titling his project with the same name.

In 2022 he was dropped from multiple festival lineups and has since joined Narcotics Anonymous. Mize was not dropped from his label, Mean Mug Music, which also has other allegations of covering up sexual misconduct for a separate artist.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
