Fans Speculate if The Chainsmokers are Dating After Shocking New Photoshoot

Drew Taggart and Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers took “baby pull me closer” to a new level in a recent photo shared to their Instagram feed.

In the photo, DJ duo members Drew Taggart and Alex Pall are pictured topless, holding on to one another. Alex is in Drew’s lap, and the two are body to body, facing toward one another with a blank expression for the camera. The black and white filter only adds to the aesthetic, or whatever vibe they’re going for.

Due to the photo, many fans rushed to the comments genuinely questioning whether this meant the duo was coming out as gay. One comment said, “The Pridesmokers”. Another said, “Finally they come out”. Essentially, people are wondering: are The Chainsmokers dating?

However, after scrolling through the photo set, it quickly becomes apparent that it’s nothing more than a parody. The Chainsmokers are not dating, but they do have a sense of humor. It looks like they’re trying to emulate a famous photo of Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Bieber. The photo set reveals the photo of the married couple at the end–Hailey in Justin’s lap, with similar facial expressions, and the grayscale filter.

To further debunk the dating speculation, The Chainsmokers Drew Taggart recently opened up in a sweet post about his girlfriend, Marianne Fonseca. He admitted that their track “Summertime Friends” was written about the night he met Marianne and that the two were now six months deep into their relationship. Drew Taggart was also in other public relationships with women, including Eve Jobs, in recent years.

Alex Pall, the other half of the DJ duo, is in a relationship with a woman as well. In early August, Alex posted a photo with his girlfriend, Moa Aberg, in honor of National Girlfriend Day. Moa is an artist and a model with international agencies including Traffic Models, Unique Models, and PARS Management.

Although The Chainsmokers dating rumors were proven false, these guys’ relationship is stronger than ever. They made a follow-up Instagram post of a behind-the-scenes style video of the photo in question. According to Alex Pall, it’s Hailey Bieber “approved.”
