The body of a 27-year-old Goldman Sachs analyst has been found in Brooklyn following his disappearance early Saturday morning after a show at The Brooklyn Mirage. Local authorities recovered a body from Newtown Creek around 11 am on Tuesday, August 1 which was confirmed to be John Castic shortly after.

The Chicago native was last seen leaving The Brooklyn Mirage around 2:30 am on Saturday morning reportedly telling friends he was going to call an Uber home. After NYPD delivered the news to the family around 2 pm, John Castic’s father Jeffery Castic told FOX News Digital, “They have found the body and confirmed it’s him.” He also mentioned that his phone and wallet had been found on the body as well. According to initial reports, the body had no obvious signs of trauma apart from drowning. His close friend Sara Kostecka told the New York Post that Castic was a “very responsible individual” noting this behavior as “atypical.”

This marks the second mysterious death in the area surrounding The Brooklyn Mirage this summer. In June, 27-year-old Karl Clemente was found in the same NYC waterway after he was denied entry to a show for being intoxicated. His body was recovered in Newton Creek just days after his disappearance. Clemente’s investigation is still ongoing.

We are heartbroken to hear about the loss of John Castic and send our condolences to his loved ones at this time. If anyone has any information on John Castic or Karl Clemente’s deaths we encourage you to reach out to local authorities.
