Anyma and Grimes Finally release hypnotizing collab “Welcome to the Opera”

Fans of Anyma and Grimes can finally rejoice because the two’s long overdue track “Welcome of the Opera” is officially out.

If you’re one of the people who have been listening to the low-quality version of “Welcome To the Opera” by Anyma and Grimes on YouTube for the past year, take a deep breath and get ready to finally press play on the official release of the song. With both artists posting on Instagram about the song last June, many fans have been confused as to why it hasn’t been released.

Fans for the past year have revisited the different posts on both artist’s Instagrams asking where the song was and when it was dropping. After a year of waiting, Grimes tweeted without warning at the beginning of this month that the song would finally get its official release on June 8th, 2023.

Many could not believe that the song was finally coming out after all this time and questioned the artists in the comments of the post. One user @deepseafiisher asks, “So is it coming out June 8th? Like officially?”. For the past year, fans have been expecting a project from Grimes titled ‘Book 1’, which was first teased back in 2021. With no official release date or timeline for an album rollout, this has left people wondering when the singer was going to revisit this album.

Anyma on the other hand has been releasing a string of singles, making “Welcome To The Opera” his fifth track released this year. In a song that is four minutes and five seconds long, the listener can expect a wave of Anyma’s signature production and Grimes’s angelic vocals that take you on a trip of pure bliss.

The two musicians are known for making music that sounds like it is from another dimension, so it makes sense this song would have the same vibes to it. There is a visualizer to go along with the track which continues the story of Anyma’s trademark visual world that he’s been creating for an album.

The song’s release comes out after the news broke that Afterlife Records (Anyma’s label) partners with Interscope Records (Grimes label) ahead of Anyma’s debut album, which is expected to drop this year. “Welcome To The Opera” is available now to buy or stream on any musical platform of preference.
