Three NYPD Officers Charged with Stealing $3k Bottles of Ace of Spades at EZoo 2022

three police officers were charged after allegedly stealing Jay Z’s famous Ace of Spades champagne bottles at Electric Zoo 2022.

Three officers from the New York Police Department were hit with criminal charges after allegedly stealing $3k worth of Ace of Spades Champagne at last year’s Electric Zoo music festival. The renowned champagne, owned by Jay-Z, was stolen from the VIP section of the festival, and per the prosecutor’s investigation, the policemen were responsible for narcotics at the event.

According to the original report in Billboard, the three officers exited the VIP tent area but return to a prohibited zone to get access to the champagne. Upon meeting two attendees who witnessed the incident, the officers were reported to a security guard on the ground. The officers who were charged, Jonathan Gonzalez, Wojciech Czech, and Warren Golden were charged by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

To make matters worse, none of the officers working at the event flagged the incident to put a halt to this incident. As a result, two more NYPD officers were arrested and suspended from their bureaucratic duties. Attorney Bragg reaffirms that public confidence in the criminal justice system must be held with utmost integrity and the same applies to everyone else.

Ace of Spades is one of the most coveted beverage brands in the market and Jay-Z is the latest incident in another court case in association with the rapper’s brand. His $300 million sale of the streaming platform, TIDAL also won a lawsuit against a team of police officers who contested the deal recently.

This year’s Electric Zoo music festival will take place at Randall’s Island Park over the Labor Day weekend on September 1-3. While the lineup for the highly anticipated event has yet to be revealed, stay tuned for more updates on the latest information as good things come to those who wait.
