Break Science come back with their first release since 2018 with their brand new EP, ‘MECHA FLORA’ out now on all streaming platforms.

The iconic duo, known by most as Break Science, has returned to music production after over five years of silence. Out now, the producer-instrumentalist combination duo, Break Science, commemorates their return with a brand new EP, ‘Mecha Flora’. ‘Mecha Flora’, which was a lockdown-era project, is a true work of art. With the vibrancy of live instrument-infused electronic music and its contemplative, purifying effect listeners are in for a journey. The EP consists of six amazing tracks, marking the EP as the duo’s first extended release since Grid of Souls.

These Colorado electronic musicians, Break Science, are paving the way to a different genre of electronic music. They truly are above the curve with their trendsetting take on instruments and electronic beats. The duo combines the culture of hip-hop with the next-level soundwaves of the future, where they show their creative expertise. Break Science consistently climbs the cutting edge of live dance music with a beautiful display of live performances, which is a treat for anyone lucky to see them.

Surely, their new album is a treat for all. ‘Mecha Flora’ proposes a thoughtful mixture of funk, dancing beats, deforming synths, and captivating rhythm. With Mecha being the digital and Flora being the natural, the EP represents the ebb and flow via proficient interpreters of music. The title track transports listeners into a funky groove session with their combination of dancing keys, distorting synths, and captivating rhythms. Then, the track follows with ‘Live Twice’, a soulful track blessed with the rhythms of Brazilian rapper Niko.

Shortly after, ‘The Callin’ brings the listener to a deeper mood. Certainly in the track, you listen to the duo’s distortion of synths worked. Which is seamlessly tied into a heavy bassline with strong progression. ‘Steady Within’  and ‘Share The Stealth’ continue the innovation masterworks by the duo hosting complex layering of rhythmic dialogues with piano keys. Last but not least, we take a journey to the final track ‘Crystal Lake’. The track delivers a jazzy, lo-fi sensation to get lost in complimented beautifully by the duo’s strumming guitar.

This EP was definitely worth the wait! If you want to experience these groovy pieces of art, you may be able to catch these guys on the road. They are performing at The Concourse Project w/ Manic Focus in Austin Texas. Then, you can catch them at Okeechobee and Summer Camp Music Festival. Until then, you can give the EP a listen below.

My name is Emilee Gabbard. I currently live in sunny Orange County, CA. By day I am a project manager working in the aerospace industry, but by night a music blogger for yours truly, Exron Music! I have been writing for Exron Music for around eight months now and cannot wait to see what is to come throughout the years. At festivals and clubs, you will find me at any house and techno stage supporting my favorites Eli Brown or Dom Dolla, or belting every word to Porter Robinson tracks wherever he performs.
