Sultan + Shepard Channel Post-Pandemic Emotion With Forthcoming Studio Album ‘Forever, Now’

Sultan + Shepard reveals their next upcoming album ‘Forever, Now’, for release on This Never Happened in February 2023.

Sultan + Shepard announced something thrilling for fans of deep house. They will be releasing a new album releasing earlier next year! The duo delightfully announces their latest project. Sultan + Shepard’s latest studio album, ‘Forever, Now’ is arriving on February 17, 2023. The album releases on another acclaimed label, This Never Happened. This Never Happened is the popular deep house artist’s, Lane 8, label and record company. 

In anticipation of the full album, the duo has dropped their first single from the album. The album’s first single “Losing Ground” is available on all streaming now for fans to enjoy!  “Losing Ground” is the ideal introduction to what’s soon to come from the artist within ‘Forever, Now.’ Losing Ground is truly a captivating record from these artists. The track is flawlessly done, being written with such an effortless comprehensive melody. But also, a very natural fluent note intertwined throughout the track with enchanting vocals from Los Angeles-based singer, Tishmal.

The process of how this track came together is perfectly stated by Ned, who is one of half of Sultan + Shepard. In a statement, he outlines that  “the writing chemistry in the room with the four of us was really inspiring and Tishmal’s voice went places that gave us goosebumps constantly. This particular vocal came out very quickly one day as we were working on a few other ideas but immediately had its own identity as something special. There’s an incredible depth to these lyrics and also simplicity since there are only four lines, which felt very poetic to us.”

The track is truly a work of art by the duo, and one for any occasion. Also, the artist spoke about the concept of their new album. They said “the concept of ‘Forever, Now’ grew out of this familiar feeling of being grounded in a place of creativity despite being in new places sonically or physically. We realized that wherever we went, there we were. Things were always moving and changing, as we ourselves were too. But through the act of being sincere in expressing our emotions, a sense of being in just the right place or hitting just the right note would often arise.”
