IS EDC LAS VEGAS PLANNING TO POSTPONE FESTIVAL TO OCTOBER?

With the coronavirus pandemic only getting worse, it’s hard to envision any major festivals moving forward in the coming months. Although no official announcements have been made by Insomniac, there has been word that EDC Las Vegas will be postponed. According to Billboard, the festival is now looking at the weekend of October 2-4, 2020.

EDC Las Vegas had been originally scheduled for May 15-17. However, with global concerns over the spread of COVID-19, it seems nearly impossible for the festival to move forward with the original dates. Many festivals including EDC are looking to reschedule their events for the fall.

Insomniac has been diligent with updating hopeful attendees on the status of the festival’s future. Pasquale Rotella, Insomniac’s founder has also been regularly in touch with the public, making announcements via his socials.

Beyond Wonderland SoCal, also put on by Insomniac, was set take place the weekend of March 20-21. That festival had to be rescheduled to June. Pasquale noted that the lineup may inevitably vary due to artist scheduling conflicts. Although nothing has been said in terms of the EDC Las Vegas lineup, we wouldn’t be surprised to see significant changes.

With EDC Las Vegas taking place in early October, that puts it during the same weekend as Wakaan Festival, and in close proximity with many others. Since many festivals are normally scheduled for September and October, it’s fair to say EDM fans may have a busy fall calendar.
