Sofi Tukker and Anabel Englund Brought Color to Portland’s Roseland Theatre

Sofi Tukker and Anabel Englund performed at the Roseland Theatre in Portland, OR for the last stop on the Wet Tennis Tour.

Sofi Tukker and Anabel Englund brought their A-game to the Roseland Theatre in Portland for two nights of performances. Alongside the musical performance, Sofi Tukker brought along two members of Bob’s Dance Shop as dancers for the main event. The Roseland Theatre is a multi-genre music venue that hosted the artists for two sold-out shows after the tour dates were rescheduled last summer.

In between performances, two out of four of the members of Bob’s Dance Shop took the stage to warm the audience up for Sofi Tukker. They joined the stage and had attendees follow them in learning some fun choreography. They played “Gimme!Gimme!Gimme!” by Abba and put forth the best dance moves while energizing the crowd. They returned to the stage during Sofi Tukker’s set and danced as a unit during various songs.

Anabel Englund opened up the night with a DJ set and performed her songs with a dazzling stage performance. She was rocking a fabulous outfit including a sparkly top paired with British flag platform boots. She performed her tracks “Midnight Rapture”, “Low”, “Underwater”, and many others with live vocals.

Englund had an enticing stage performance and was able to connect with fans during and after the show. Her DJ set was the perfect introduction to not only her music and stylistic choice but also a great segway into the high-energy set by Sofi Tukker. Next up was the fantastic duo known as Sofi Tukker who had a colorful tennis theme in their stage design and outfits. They had many unique elements including a scoreboard to showcase competition between who would get the loudest cheers from each of the two nights of performances. Tucker received 48 points from the Friday night show while Sophie won triumphantly on night two with a total of 59 points.

In addition to this, they had an interactive soundboard and there were some Sofi Tukker exclusively tennis balls in the crowd. They performed their beloved tracks “Original Sin”, “Purple Hat”, “Summer in New York” and many songs on their latest album ‘Wet Tennis’. They concluded the night with their original infamous remix of the White Lotus theme songs while everyone was jumping up in the air and dancing.

Sofi Tukker had one of the most energizing sets that the Roseland Theatre has seen with an amazing turnout of fans singing their hearts out. The duo helped many fans during the pandemic with their DJ sets that they would stream while people were stuck at the home. They brought that same positivity, love, and sense of community to the stage for Portlanders for two amazing nights.
