Insomniac Launches New Melodic House & Techno Label Interstellar with Debut Single from Jeremy Olander
Insomniac expands its imprint with a new music label under the Interstellar initiative.
Insomniac unveils its new melodic house and techno label Interstellar, kicking off its debut with the single ‘Holmen’ by Swedish DJ and producer Jeremy Olander. The inaugural track is the first release under Interstellar, which has been settled not only as a label but as a club and events brand as well.
Interstellar’s mission is to be a sanctuary for dance music artists who fall in the realms of melodic house, techno, progressive house, deep house, and more as it stands as a home for all things ethereal. Originally derived as a Los Angeles music festival in 2023, unfortunately, it fell victim to rare weather conditions and was canceled.
Under the umbrella of Insomniac Music Group and Insomniac Records – Interstellar now emerges as a label that is meant to be a haven for all things progressive and melodic house and techno, whilst protecting the ethos and embracing the future of electronic music. Olander’s debut single sets the tone for the direction of future releases under Interstellar.
It has been said that ‘Holmen’ is an ideal track for the label’s sound, as it embodies and is comprised of jungle beats, choppy sounds, and glimmering synths that culminate into one ethereal melody. The track offers a climactic journey that transcends listening to a euphoric state that dances between the lines of genre boundaries.
On the making of the single, Olander shares, “For special shows I like to make new intro tracks, and this particular one was made for Department Festival in Stockholm last summer. It’s a big annual festival that’s been running for a few years and I played the headline slot on the second day and wanted to put something together that was big, melodic and emotional and could set the tone for a festival set.”
