Fred again.. Recruits Baby Keem for New Drum & Bass Banger “leavemealone”

After teasing the song in his sets for months, Fred again.. has officially released “leavemealone” with Baby Keem.

The highly-anticipated single begins with ominous synths and deep bass before Baby Keem’s vocals are distorted and chopped. The hook summons an energetic drum and bass drop that has been filled with prominent Baby Keem samples. “leavemealone” has distinct Fred again.. sounds and production while playing with an overall dark tone.

The day before its official release, Fred again.. had posted a video breaking down the vocal samples he used from the rapper to create “leavemealone.” The producer had taken parts from the songs “south africa” and “BULLIES” and seamlessly blended them into a drum and bass hit. According to Fred again.., he and Baby Keem have hung out on several occasions and he believes that the single is only the beginning for the pair.

2023 has been a whirlwind of a year for the artist. At the beginning of the year, Fred again.. released collaborations like “Rumble” with Skrillex, sold out Madison Square Garden, and closed Coachella. He then played a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR and dropped ‘Secret Life’ with Brian Eno before making his Glastonbury debut

After a year of sold-out pop-up shows, massive headlines, and successful releases, Fred again.. is rounding the year out on a high note. Fans have waited for the drop of “leavemealone” since it was first teased and it seems as though the DJ is just as excited. 

Rapper and producer Baby Keem also made his mark when he was featured on the ‘Black Panther’ soundtrack in 2018. He later won a Grammy Award for “Best Rap Performance” with four total nominations in 2022. He and Kendrick Lamar have secured another nomination this year.
