Illenium awakens Electric Factory in Philly

Illenium, Said The Sky, and Dabin sold out Electric Factory in Philly last Thursday. While each holding true to their own styles of music, together they created a complimenting blend of electronic music. It has been awhile since we’ve seen openers compliment and lead up to the headlining DJ so nicely. Electric Factory generates such a unique vibe– a little bit of warehouse paired with state of the art production. As you enter the venue you see multi colored hanging light fixtures hanging from the ceiling and an awesome two level space.

The show opened with Dabin, a producer from Toronto, that is best known for his recent “Two Hearts” LP and for remixes of songs by Seven Lions, Illenium, and Gramatik. Much like Illenium, Dabin creates a chill but alluring atmosphere while he’s playing.  One of the song’s that really captures his overall vibe is “Lilith”.

After Dabin, Said The Sky absolutely blew us away.  His sound compliments Illenium’s so well because it is very similar with meaningful lyrics and heavy captivating melodies.  Some of our favorite songs he played were “All I Got” and “Pray for Me”.  Both tracks are originals that have received over 750k plays on SoundCloud.  His visuals included a small cloud that flashed different visuals and colors throughout his set. Some songs he played were accompanied by a drummer, the same one that played for Illenium later to close the set.

Finally came the long awaited Nick Miller aka Illenium from Denver, Colorado.  We have been huge fans of his for awhile now and were excited to finally see the “Awake” EP live. It was everything we thought it was going to be and more, the visual production was phenomenal. Each song that he played followed together effortlessly and with impressive talent. He played some of his old classics while mixing in the songs from the new EP. One of our favorite songs off the EP and played during the tour were “Where’d U Go” which is produced with fellow tour producer, Said the Sky.

The tour has been earning many sold out shows across the country, which is not surprising considering the fan base that Illenium has developed over the recent years.  He has been touring across the states for the past two months and we wouldn’t be surprised if he took over Europe next.  Don’t miss the last tour dates before the years over and check out the link to the “Awake” EP below!
