Tipper Announces Retirement Plans With Fans
Tipper’s team has shared the artist’s plans to retire from touring next year in a bittersweet announcement.
Tipper fans who subscribe to his email list received the long-anticipated yet somewhat unfortunate news on Tuesday afternoon. The email revealed the DJ’s decision to completely step back from touring, citing a much-needed break after a lifetime of performing. Tipper is retiring.
The message began with “A word from Tipper”, where he stated, “After spending the better part of my adult life touring and playing shows, I feel like it’s time to stop. I’m very grateful for all the support over the years. It will be a wrap sometime in 2025. Peace Out..”
The email also provided links to purchase tickets for Tipper’s 2024 events. The current schedule includes Texas Eclipse from April 5-8, Rendezvous from May 3-5, and Lightning in a Bottle on May 22-27. Tipper has yet to reveal a performance schedule for the remainder of the year.
Rendezvous, organized by the same team and held at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Florida, is essentially a rebranded version of the well-known Tipper & Friends event. This rebranding might have hinted to fans that Tipper was planning to phase out his live music career and pass the event along to the newer folks.
In recent years, ongoing health issues have led to Tipper’s team announcing that his future performances would be limited. In 2022, an email informed fans about health problems that disrupted plans for a Labor Day Weekend event. The email described this as a “very unexpected happenstance.” Early in 2023, he announced his final “banger” set, alluding to Tipper’s retirement.
Since then, Tipper has continued to perform, albeit at a reduced capacity noticeable to fans. It remains unclear whether his health issues influenced the decision to stop touring next year. Regardless, Tipper’s retirement is imminent, and this email marks the beginning of the end of an era for many fans.
