Ferry Corsten Receives Prestigious Award from the Dutch Royal Family

Electronic music titan Ferry Corsten becomes the third DJ to be honoured by the Dutch Royal Family with the title of Officer in the Order of Oranje-Nassau.

A master of creating impeccable releases and playing all around the world’s top venues and festivals, Dutch DJ producer, Ferry Corsten has been a staple in the electronic music scene and beyond. This week, he was honoured by the Dutch Royal Family for his marvellous contributions as a creative musician and hard work that continues to bring glory to both his nation as well as globally.

Founded back in 1892, the prestigious title of The Order of Oranje-Nassau is a civil and military Dutch order of chivalry that is exclusively awarded to top nationals of the Netherlands that have extended an incredible service to the national and beyond. It is a coveted honour that recognises its citizen’s contribution in the wider international space.

Since his sophomore album under the System F alias ‘Out of The Blue’ charted in the UK Top 20 singles chart in 1999, the prolific stalwart have notched a slew of accolates that earned him this well-deserved honour. Apart from being the longest-running Dutch DJ to remain in the Top 100 DJs Poll in 2021, he was also the first DJ to be named the Ambassador of Freedom by the Dutch Liberation Day Comity back in 2008. With this award, Ferry becomes only the third DJ after Tiesto (2003) and Armin Van Buuren (2011) to be championed with the title of Officer in the Order of Oranje-Nassau.

Upon receiving the award on stage, Ferry was overwhelmed with disbelief, “I can’t put into words how much of an honour being presented with this award is for me. As a passionately proud Dutch native and as an artist who has just wanted to share all the beautiful sides of dance music with the world since day one. To be recognised by the Dutch Royal family means so much. Thank you”.
