LA GIVES BACk raises 50k following Sixth Annual Charity Benefit

Zedd, Bonobo, Flosstradamus, Mija, Boombox Cartel, and many more perform at La Gives Back 6th annual fundraiser show.

After a two-year break, the sixth edition of the dance-oriented fundraiser takes place on Dec. 20 at Catch One in Los Angeles. As tradition goes, the lineup remained undisclosed until the night of the event, but organizers assured a “confirmed mega headliner.” This year featured an overwhelming lineup, featuring Zedd, Bonobo, Teed, Flosstradamus, Boombox Cartel, Mija, Tsu Nami, Ramonpang, and Chad Kenny. The diverse roster contributed to the event’s vibrant atmosphere.

Top L.A. party promoters, including Brownies and Lemonade, Shrek Rave, HEAV3N, Electric Feels, Club 90s, Hack the Planet, and Restless Nights, curated the event. IHEARTCOMIX lead the party, directing funds towards organizations aiding the city’s unhoused population. Launched by IHEARTCOMIX in 2016 in response to the growing homeless crisis, L.A. Gives Back raised over $200,000 in its initial five years for Downtown Women’s Center, My Friend’s Place, and MásForMore. This year, the event proceeds supported these three organizations.

Before the event, IHEARTCOMIX founder, Franki Chan, said the following in a statement – “It’s so cool that so many of L.A.’s top music curators and creative talent can come together and produce an event that draws attention to this huge crisis in our community,” “We hope that the event can showcase the wide diversity and collaborative nature that makes L.A. so special while raising the funds so desperately needed to address the issue.

After the successful philanthropic event, Brownies and Lemonade thanked the LA community for its support. The post said “thank u to IHEARTCOMIX for bringing us back and making last night possible. thank u to every single person who donated and contributed to LA Gives Back. lastly, thank u to all the partners and promoters who helped provide multiple rooms of eclectic music. The holidays are about giving and there’s no better feeling than giving back to the city that made us who we are.”

As 2023 comes to an end, it’s important to have events like LAGB. These events open the eyes of the community and industry to give back in more ways than one.

Finally, as we enter the holidays and close out the year, we’d like to wish everyone a happy holiday season.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
