ILLENIUM Pursues Overdose Education for Upcoming World Tour Alongside Self-Titled Album

ILLENIUM partners with the non-profit organization, End Overdose to provide free education and test strips at his upcoming tour stops.

Ahead of the release of his self-titled fifth studio album, ILLENIUM announced that he has partnered with non-profit organization, End Overdose to raise awareness at his upcoming tour on a personal topic. The artist hosted a media roundtable to discuss his new music and shed light on his latest partnership.

During the session, ILLENIUM opened up about his addiction to heroin and the importance of recognizing the signs to prevent a severe overdose. He touched on the topic of keeping safe by advocating for harm reduction, particularly for those who use prescription drugs or recreational drugs.

The dance artist also took to Instagram to reveal his experience: “My past had some dark days and I suffered from an overdose back in 2012. I think to battle that, everyone should be knowledgeable and prepared to help anyone who may need it.”

On Wednesday, ILLENIUM also hosted an Instagram live for the fans to see a demonstration on how to identify & respond to an overdose. Free naloxone (the drug used to reverse opiate/opioid overdose) were also provided to those who want it. As part of this partnership, he shared that End Overdose will also have a presence on many of his tour stops to provide the same service for anyone who needs them.

Speaking of his new music, the multi-talented artist revealed that his upcoming project incorporates many genre influences and “artists that I am a fan of.” With a bunch of collaborations that were carefully crafted, energy-filled and showcases his signature style of melodic bass productions, the new album will be sure to transport the listeners to a journey filled with massive sonic punches.

As ILLENIUM reflected on his production process and reiterates his love for “house music and Drum and Bass,” he also shared his desires for working with rising artist and musicians who are still paving their own lanes within the electronic scene. Hinting that his own new label or creative collection might be on the horizon, ILLENIUM is currently working tirelessly in preparation for his upcoming tour. Kicking off with first stop at The Gorge Amphitheatre in May, this will be his biggest tour to date.
