WIRE FESTIVAL 2023 Returns to Knockdown Center New York with Two Stages and Techno-Heavy Lineup

Techno fans, it’s time to dance the day and night (and the next day, and next night) away with the return of WIRE FESTIVAL 2023 at Knockdown Center New York this spring.

WIRE FESTIVAL is returning to the legendary Knockdown Center on May 19-20, 2023 for two nights of innovative techno, engaging panel discussions, and thought-provoking art installations. Coming back in its second iteration, the festival is sticking to its roots of community and conversation while pushing the boundaries on artist diversity like never before.

The lineup features an impressive array of heavy-hitting techno artists from around the world. From renowned American DJ and producer Jeff Mills to UK veteran Luke Slater to Berlin legend Marcel Dettmann, WIRE promises to take fans on a global journey through sense and sound.

While European techno is heavily represented (with 999999999, CEM, MCMLXXXV, Salome, and BASEMENT resident Newa being just a few featured artists), New York is no stranger to the lineup with local rising techno stars Akua, WTCHCRFT, KYRUH, Matas, Jek, Rose Kourts and BASEMENT resident Lydo repping their city.

WIRE FESTIVAL 2023

WIRE FESTIVAL will have two stages: The first being in the heart of Knockdown Center’s illustrious atrium where the majority of sets will take place, while the second will offer greater intimacy and is a direct product of Herrensauna and Fast Forward, two underground queer rave collectives

Knockdown Center itself is one of the premier spaces in New York City for electronic music. Always on the cutting edge of artistry and production, the 50,000-square-foot space is able to transform at a whim depending on genre and style. And how’s this for venue trivia: The warehouse space itself has been in use for over 100 years, first as a glass factory, then as the Manhattan Door factory, before becoming the cultural hub it’s now known as.

Téa Abashidze, GeGa Japaridze, and Tyler Myers are the curatorial trailblazers behind WIRE FESTIVAL as well as BASEMENT, the underground techno club housed below Knockdown Center. WIRE is more than just a festival; it’s a statement on community, integrity, and just how much electronic music can impact society.
