SVDDEN DEATH and Marshmello Throw Pop Up Rave at Mall of America

MELLODEATH has done it again and brought bass music to another unconventional space – the Mall of America.

SVDDEN DEATH and Marshmello had shaken the Mall of America with bass on April 13 before they performed at The Armory for the MELLODEATH Tour. Videos captured the massive crowd that had gathered on all four floors of the building and people lining the escalators to see the set. The first-come-first-served event drew fans to the Minnesotan shopping center.

Marshmello has shared several clips of the pop-up on TikTok. One featured a moment where mall security had allegedly asked attendees to refrain from riding the rail. Another had shown the duo plotting their next track, a riddim remix of “Complicated” by Avril Lavigne.

The show at the Mall of America followed their first at The Wieners Circle in Chicago last weekend. The last garnered mass attention from the community and drew fans to the streets to prepare for an even rowdier night. The two pop-ups have foreshadowed what is to come from MELLODEATH musically and performance-wise.

The Mall of America is a huge shopping mall with over 100 stores, a theme park, an aquarium, and more. The establishment has hosted concerts, but MELLODEATH added a new genre to their repertoire.

Marshmello and SVDDEN DEATH came together in 2019 and has been riding the dubstep wave since. Marshmello is well known for his radio hits but has been integrating heavy aspects into his music. After the Mall of America pop-up, the DJ teased the release of a riddim EP that may be coming next week.

MELLODEATH is playing the final show of their tour in Dallas on April 26. SVDDEN DEATH asked followers on X where the next pop-up should be, but nothing has been confirmed. Until then, listen to the first volume of ‘MELLODEATH Tapes here:
