Grimes has apologised for “major technical difficulties” during her Coachella DJ set.

In videos circulated on social media, Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, can be seen expressing frustration multiple times, pausing songs, and informing the audience that all her tracks are “double the tempo,” making mixing difficult. Eventually, the set was prematurely cut short, and Grimes exited the stage midway through her popular song “Genesis”.

In her subsequent apology, she characterized the experience as “sonic chaos on my end trying to guess how stuff was sounding for u guys.” Grimes pledged to organize all the files personally the following week, ahead of her performance at Coachella’s second weekend, acknowledging that she had learned valuable lessons.

“I will ensure such mishaps do not recur,” she vowed. “I’ve dedicated months to this show, crafting music and visuals, and admittedly am not in the best mood atm. However, yeh – next week will be flawless, everything will run through my hands.” “Plz forgive me! Love, always.”
