Time Warp Celebrates 30 Years of Techno with Mannheim Germany Takeover

Time Warp, the industry and music scene dominating techno take over, has celebrated its 30th anniversary of music and memories.

Time Warp has reached 30 years of celebration in music. The techno institution at the forefront of the techno scene and industry remained and continues to be a steadfast global event hosted in multiple countries and cities over the three decades since its initial conception.

After 30 years, Time Warp has amassed multiple accolades and hosted various events with incredible artists over the decades. Their mission statement is simple; “We want to make you dance. This is our mission since 1994. And there are more reasons why we believe you should dance with us.”

Beginning in Mannheim, Germany, Time Warp returns to celebrate 30 years. Since 2000 the city has been home to the iconic festival and its high standard of production value which has aided the event in its rise to success. With a constant roster of techno artists gracing the booth, Mannheim is the natural location for such a premier event to call home.

Seth Troxler shared on his Instagram a post that perfectly explains the lore and love that Time Warp has for ravers, “@time_warp_official is the testament to an idea. A love for our culture. This love that stemmed from a single idea, maybe a feeling 30 years ago. Think about that – 30 years ago Steffan had an idea, when techno was just beginning really, to do this type of event and to build a family from the organisation, the artists, and, of course, the ravers over the course of these 30 years. Everyone gathered for one common idea, one feeling. It’s really incredible to think of Time Warp abstractly. To break it down to the core. A party over multiple stages that is the core representation of a culture from its very foundation.”

In addition to Mannheim, Time Warp is global with events hosted in New York City, Sao Paolo, and Santiago. In their “hometown” in Germany, the festival runs for 19+ hours and nearly 40 artists are slated to take the stage. In the past 30 years, there have been 53 editions, over 300 artists, and over 1 million guests.

Most recently in New York City, Time Warp hosted Chris Stussy, Sara Landry, Golfos (Dennis Cruz B2B Pawsa), Klangkuenster, Renier Zonnefeld, Mochakk, and Joseph Capriati B2B Vintage Culture. Legends such as Time Warp Festival are built not made.
