Several Artists Drop From Texas Eclipse Just Days Before Festival Start

Several psytrance artists had revealed they would cancel their performances at the Texas Eclipse Festival just before the event started.

The solar eclipse taking place on April 8 had spurred inspiration for a once-in-a-lifetime event for the occasion. Disco Donnie Presents had announced their plans for the camping festival last April and the time for the cosmic display has arrived. As Texas Eclipse approached, it was revealed that TRON and Superluminal had decided to drop out.

Patricio Tron, known as TRON, had announced that he would not perform two weeks before the festival. On March 18, the psytrance producer posted that “hiccups” between his management and production had been the reason behind his cancellation. TRON had apologized to fans through social media, writing, “We are one so have a blast for me.”

On April 3, two days before the event opened, Kabayun posted that he and his wife would not be playing as Superluminal either. The post was used to confirm that his solo set had also been canceled. The pair thanked one of the festival’s organizers for their collaboration when they decided not to perform.

TRON replied to the post, confirming that he had dropped from Texas Eclipse for the same reason. The artist alleged that different organizers gave him conflicting information. He continued by describing discrepancies in the payment information he was given and alleged that it took over 1 week for the festival organizers to reply.

Despite some artists dropping from the festival, Texas Eclipse has run as planned and began on April 5. The full lineup spans genres with hundreds of artists like Charlotte de Witte, The String Cheese Incident, and Zeds Dead. The festival combines diverse music with space for a rare experience.

The solar eclipse will cross over North America on April 8 and Central Texas will not see another until the year 2343. The inaugural Texas Eclipse Festival is set to end on April 9.
