Ultra Music Festival 2024: a Raver’s Paradise Amid the Rain

Ultra Music Festival has once again won festival-goers over with its top-notch production and impeccable musical programming.

Ultra Music Festival 2024 left everyone in attendance amused and begging for more – despite the slight weather-induced hiccup that occurred. This year’s 24th edition of the acclaimed music festival further proved that those who make all the magic happen behind the scenes are top-tier and committed to making Ultra the best festival on Earth. As the most internationally recognized festival brand, Ultra Music Festival never ceases to amaze electronic dance music lovers from every speck of the globe, and this year was no different.

With the festival’s location being in Miami, the chances of inclement weather are always at an all-time high. However, Ultra has lucked out the past couple of years as not even a single drop of rain has been on the forecast during recent installments. This year, things took a bit of a turn on day one with the thunderstorm that arose, but Ultra did its thing and kept the vibes high for as long as humanly possible. Tiësto‘s sunset performance was interrupted mid-set due to his equipment getting wet, but the show went on once things were back up and running moments before safety protocols called for the entire festival to be evacuated.

Numerous artists slated to perform on Friday evening couldn’t perform due to the festival being canceled halfway through, but Ultra rescheduled some of them to play alternate time slots throughout the rest of the weekend to make up for it. Some of these artists were Adam Beyer and Amelie Lens who were supposed to close out the RESISTANCE Megastructure, Hardwell, Fisher x Chris Lake who were presenting their Under Construction project at the Main Stage, and Armin van Buuren who was to conduct the grand finale of A State of Trance at the Worldwide stage.

Originally, the festival gates were supposed to open up at noon on Saturday, but due to the damage caused by heavy rainfall, the official start time on day two was at 4 pm instead. At first, attendees were devasted by this news, but the festival did a phenomenal job at keeping everyone in the loop with what was going on via their social media channels. The best news on day two was the official announcement that the festival was being extended until 1 am that night – something that seemed completely impossible for the city of Miami to agree with. Ultra did a complete 360 and redeemed itself with everything that positively came into play following the inevitable chaos from day one.

The rest of the festival weekend went as seamlessly and beautifully as possible and turned into a true raver’s paradise in the heart of Downtown Miami. The energy in the atmosphere was high and spirits were once again lifted. It was heartwarming to witness attendees raving their hearts out on days two and three due to lost time on the first day. Even artists we spotted roaming throughout the festival grounds were smiling from cheek to cheek from excitement of the day two comeback.

Notable moments following the post-rain whirlwind of events include Illenium joining Seven Lions on stage to showcase their newest collaboration “Not Even Love” and RL Grime b2b Knock2 bringing out ISOxo on Saturday. Mathame, Adriatique, Peggy Gou, Chase and Status, and Vintage Culture also outdid themselves on day two. Then on Sunday, names like ARTBAT, Wooli, Sub Focus, Camelphat, Eli Brown b2b HI-LO, Eric Prydz, Patrick Mason, Elderbrook, Adam Beyer, and more tore up Bayfront Park with their infectious sounds.

Ultra Music Festival 2024

Every second of this year’s Ultra Music Festival felt magical. Even dancing in the rain like true ravers on day one felt like heaven on Earth. From the magnetic vibes of the crowd to the infectious melodies pulsating from every stage across the festival grounds – the entire festival experience was every raver’s dream.

But the entire weekend’s highlight was closing out Ultra by singing our hearts out to Calvin Harris‘s revolutionary classics like “We Found Love” ft. Rihanna, “Feel So Close”, and “Sweet Nothing” among many others at the Main Stage amid a sea of wholesome and devoted dance music lovers. Even among the rain, Ultra Music Festival 2024 is bound to be a core memory to last a lifetime.
