Who is Horsegiirl?

After a Boiler Room set in Berlin, horsegiirL has blown up for her energetic techno and unique costume on stage.

Stella, also known as horsegiirL, has built her brand on a horse persona complete with a mask. She has become well known for never breaking character while performing or doing interviews. The artist has explained that she hopes to encourage people to enjoy the music and not take it too seriously.

In her Boiler Room set, horsegiirL had been shown surrounded by fans dancing and smiling as she took them on a journey through energetic dance music. Since being uploaded at the end of 2022, the Berlin-based DJ has been touring around the world, playing festivals, and securing club shows. horsegiirL has built quite a support system, known as “farmies,” who come dressed in costumes complete with cowboy hats and pitchforks.

“Everyone has always been super, super sweet and accepting. That is, like, the core thing I can feel about my fans. They are very open-minded people,” horsegiirL said of her fans in an interview with Resident Advisor. 

She describes her music as uplifting and fun, as shown through her discography and sets. Her first song, “Harvest Heartbreak,” was released in 2022, followed by a string of singles and her EP, “Farm Fatale.” The next summer, “My Barn My Rules” came out and catapulted horsegiirL into the spotlight as it gained popularity on TikTok

Since childhood, the DJ has played many instruments, studied several musical styles, and experimented with writing music. horsegiirL has fun sets that are full of fast-paced dance music. From techno to hardstyle, she plays with everything to create a fun environment in addition to her recognizable costume.
