ZHU Presents His Fourth Studio Album ‘GRACE’

Prepare to step into the sacred space of Zhu’s long-awaited album, as ‘GRACE’ has finally arrived.

Grammy-nominated American artist Zhu has finally unveiled his highly anticipated album, ‘GRACE,’ marking his first full-length release since ‘GENERATIONWHY’ back in 2016. Initially teasing fans with a tracklist of 15 songs in early March, the big reveal surprised everyone—it’s actually a two-disc album totaling to a total of 21 tracks. 

Just hours before the album’s drop, Zhu disclosed, “GRACE serves as the soundtrack for my upcoming film debuting this fall.” Inside the album cover, Zhu shares the inspiration behind the creation of ‘GRACE.’ It reads, “On May 23 2023, Steven Zhu started to record his fourth studio album in Grace Cathedral, San Francisco. We went back to his hometown to find inspiration for his next mission. We wanted to share some of these moments with you tonight.” 

Thematically, ‘GRACE’ delves into longing, remorse, and profound realizations stemming from the artist’s experiences over the past years. Zhu’s sonic landscape matches expectations—moody, emotional, and sultry, yet imbued with emotional depth and yearning. 

Collaborations with other artists, such as “Grace Hymn” with Herizen, “Praise” with BANKS and bludnymph, and “Dragonfruit” with Emotional Oranges, are tracks beautiful blending vocals together to create feelings of tension, angst, and passion. 

As Disc 2 unfolds, a shift in vibe occurs, offering more upbeat and soul-captivating tracks like “Take My Soul” with Devault and “Changes,” while still retaining Zhu’s signature brooding allure with tracks like “Devil’s Prescription” and “Days Before Grace.”

Overall, a guaranteed crowd pleaser is infectious house collaboration “Settle For Less” with Sabrina Claudio accompanied by a new music video starring the goddess herself.
