Watch Fred Again.. and Tony Friend’s Best On-Stage Moments
Take a trip through some of the countless memories that the bromance between Fred Again.. and his on-stage sidekick Tony Friend has brought over the years.
If you’ve been to a Fred Again.. show since he began his meteoric rise to electronic music stardom, you’ve likely also been treated to the talents of his right-hand man Tony Friend. Tony, who was one-half of the dubstep group Modestep until 2017 and has since released music under the name Terror, has been performing alongside Fred since he joined him on his UK tour in Fall 2021. The perfect complement to Fred’s infectious energy, Tony has become the subject of much adoration and appreciation in the Fred Again.. fan community since he began sharing the stage.
Back in April 2022, just after making his Coachella debut, Fred posted a montage captioned “We love Tony,” introducing many fans to his friend and collaborator. The videos show how Tony “gasses everyone on stage” and feature both Fred and fans showing him love:
By December 2022, Tony was an integral part of the Fred Again.. experience. That much is clear in this video of the two firing up a packed crowd in Manchester:
The chemistry between the duo is on display again in these clips from early 2023 in which Tony hypes up Fred during a Frank Ocean edit and a set at Laneway Festival:
But Tony is so much more than just a hype man. A massively talented producer and DJ, Tony performs b2b with Fred for portions of their tour shows. Fans love the results, as seen in this clip from Alexandra Palace in London in September 2023:
On stage and in the studio, Tony helps Fred with mixing tracks and loading up samples on launchpads and other equipment that Fred uses to make songs and mashups. In October 2023, Fred shared a little glimpse into the duo’s process:
