Porter Robinson Sparks Speculation of Collabs with The Killers and Basshunter on New Album

Porter Robinson’s recent FL Studio tutorial video on TikTok has fans and DJs guessing who’s on his next album.

On Thursday, February 29th, Porter Robinson surprised his fans. A paparazzi inquired if he was “really deleting his music,” eliciting a playful thumbs-up from Robinson.”Yes,” he confirmed, as captured by Getty. “Yes, I am. Thank you!” It turned out to be an expertly executed troll job, as Robinson confirmed on Friday, March 1st, that his third studio album is arriving sooner than later.

Robinson announced on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) that he has finished the album. The post also featured a photo of Robinson holding a giant pink star, covered with hearts and faces. The significance of the photo remains uncertain—it could be a promotional image, or official album/single artwork. For now, Robinson’s announcement remains vague.

However, on Instagram, Robinson also shared a video from what appears to be his studio. As he hits play, a pink, cartoonish face obscures his own—the same animation now adorning Robinson’s profile icon across his social media accounts, as well as his Spotify page. The video’s foreshadowing caption reads, “:-D #NEWMUSIC.”

For the die-hard Porter fans, you might have noticed that Porter posted another tease to a possible new record on his TikTok. The TikTok starts off by Porter introducing himself via text and writing “Today let’s show you to make a f***ing-cool melody!”. He continues to make some small edits on FL Studio and ends the video with a massive drop with the text saying “LET’S GO!!!”, “Now just dance the room and pretend your a rock-star DJ!!”, “Like The Killers, Porter Robinosn, Basshunter, etc…”.

Furthermore, as soon as the clip was posted, several fans commented about the potential collaborations. Many addressed Basshunter, rumors and how excited they would be for that collaboration. Dillon Francis even jumped in the comments saying “Thank you for this”.

All in all, the industry has responded, and they are ready for some new Porter Robinson music, and cross-genre collaborations. He has not yet announced its title or release date, but fans can register for updates here.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
