John Summit Accuses Fisher of Stealing his ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ Remix

John Summit accuses “Somebody” of stealing his remix in a new social media post.

Fans are shocked as John Summit accuses Fisher in a public manner on X of ripping off his remix of GOTYE’s song “Somebody That I Used To Know.” The DJ claims to have performed the track twice at Factory Town last year and doesn’t understand how Fisher was slapped on the final remix.

Various videos across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram have Summit crushing the track at different events, which led to him expressing his confusion on X. Even though he wasn’t on this remix, the recent Forbes 30 Under 30 DJ has been busy performing around the world and dropping new music, like his new collaboration track “Shiver” with Hayla.

Aside from performing the song at Factory Town, Summit also performed the remix of the GOTYE track at the Elements Festival. As fans were also confused about how Fisher got the song under his name, user @Clipperfan411 pointed out in the comments, “All that matters is that GOTYE clears it lol.”

Chris Lake produces most of Fisher’s music, as the two have a longtime friendship and business situation. Since 2018, the two artists have been putting on special shows with their series titled UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Over the years, the duo have been inseparable in a musical sense, which would lead to another collaboration on a track like “Somebody.”

The two artists aren’t the first DJs to remix the track, as Tiësto, 4FRNT, M-Phazes, Bibio, and Gang Colours were among ten artists on a remix package released in 2012. The new remix hasn’t been out for three weeks yet and has already garnered almost 5 million streams on Spotify.

Fisher has not responded to Summit’s post about stealing his remix but has posted on Instagram about the track reaching the number 1 spot on BeatportTop100. The song has been making its way through TikTok in different trends on the app, which has helped push its popularity.
