Skrillex, the Grammy award-winning DJ and music producer, is known as one of the most influential artists in electronic dance music. Throughout his 20-year music career, he’s been able to create a unique sound that separates him from his peers. But what type of music is Skrillex?

Over the years, Skrillex primarily makes songs in the dubstep, electro-house, and trap subgenres of electronic dance music. He is one of the artists who popularized the dubstep genre, which includes specific sounds of heavy bass drops and complex rhythms.

Skrillex is also known for pushing different boundaries of electronic music by experimenting with new sounds and techniques. This style has a distant sound from his peers as he creates tracks incorporating elements of various musical genres. Coming off a busy year of releasing new music, it’s unsure if the producer has anything new this year, as he’s kept it pretty quiet on social media in 2024.
