Mountaintop Studios’ upcoming tactical first-person shooter, though still unnamed, boasts significant support from well-known figures. Following a successful $30 million funding round in August 2023, the developer has recently doubled its investment, partially thanks to prominent angel investors. Among them is an eight-time NBA All-Star and a renowned figure in the gaming world, known for his prowess in titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Valorant.
In this latest funding round, which also secured $30 million, Mountaintop’s PvP game attracted investment from L.A. Clippers’ small forward Paul George, along with Shroud, has has expertise in FPS games such as CS: GO and Valorant. His involvement has garnered him millions of subscribers globally. In addition to the roster of notable celebrities and investors, is none other than superstar DJ, Zedd.
Zedd, the renowned DJ and electronic music producer, supported the new first-person shooter game during this recent round of funding. Having established himself in the gaming realm, Zedd acknowledges the beneficial impact of his gaming ventures on his creative equilibrium. An enthusiastic gamer, he’s been actively involved in prestigious gaming projects, such as contributing his musical talents to League of Legends and crafting in-game skins for Valorant.
However, Zedd’s current involvement with Mountaintop Studios signifies a departure from his past endeavors. Collaborating with esports luminaries like Shroud, Tarik, and iiTzTimmy, as well as NBA star Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers, represents a new frontier for him. The funding round was spearheaded by Anthos Capital and saw participation from prominent firms like Andreessen Horowitz and RX3 Growth Partners, among others.
