Sammy Virji Crushes NYC Debut with an Enchanting Set at Elsewhere

In an era of increasingly dance-less dancefloors, groove doctor Sammy Virji had the crowd moving from start to finish at Elsewhere Brooklyn.

A rising star in the music scene, Sammy Virji recently took center stage at Elsewhere Brooklyn for a performance that left the crowd absolutely buzzing.  Known for booking a diverse range of cutting-edge artists, Elsewhere provided the perfect backdrop for Virji’s refreshing blend of garage and bassline.

The night kicked off with the opening act Cosmo effortlessly charging the room with her funky basslines and energetic beats.  As the clock neared 2:00 A.M., fans eagerly packed into the main hall, bursting with anticipation for Virji’s appearance.  In an iconic display, the crowd roared as they chanted “Sammy” over and over again while his set began.

With a grin so bright he could light up almost anyone’s day, Sammy Virji commanded the crowd in a way strikingly reminiscent to Fred Again..’s Boiler Room set in July 2022.  Coincidentally or not, many attendees had on tees from Fred Again..’s legendary Forest Hills Stadium show.  Certainly, many fans showed up and showed out thanks to Virji’s iconic DJ Mag HQ set in August.

Originally from Leeds, Sammy Virji has steadily made waves with his joyful and upbeat take on UK garage music.  Apart from helping bring UKG stateside, Virji’s music brings a distinctive sense of vibrancy and youthful nostalgia to his listeners.  In fact, Virji has managed to inspire unsuspecting artists such as Of The Trees to attempt to capture his energy.

Furthermore, Virji was a master at keeping the energy high and the crowd smiling from ear to ear with his masterful track transitions. From anywhere in the room, young adults transitioned between recording their favorite track and rocking out without a care. Closing down the place with “Find My Way Home” into “Gypsy Woman,” Virji left the crowd with a newfound appreciation for the invigorating capability of dance music.

In conclusion, Sammy Virji’s Elsewhere performance solidified his status as a must-watch artist in the music scene. Unquestionably, what set Virji’s performance apart was his seamless ability to blend different styles within the electronic music spectrum.  In one of the most tightly packed shows to grace Elsewhere’s floors, the vibes remained undoubtedly immaculate throughout the night.

As Virji continues his rise as an artist, he is clearly a force to be reckoned with.  To stay up to date on his latest shows, head over to his Instagram page.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now, I am finishing up law school and hope to merge my passions by working in the music industry. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list items to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and ADE in the Netherlands. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Kevin de Vries, Eli Brown, and John Summit.
