Gryffin Says Upcoming Album ‘PULSE’  is the “Most Creatively Inspired” He’s Felt in Years

Gryffin has announced his third studio album, to be released spring or summer 2024, and an upcoming single with Rita Ora.

International superstar DJ and producer Gryffin (Dan Griffith) has been in album mode for quite a while, and fans have been chomping at the bit to learn more about the forthcoming project. The San Francisco native has finally obliged, posting on Instagram to inform followers that his third studio album, ‘PULSE,’ will be arriving in a matter of months. Though no specific release date was given, he did narrow it down to spring or summer 2024.

In the post, Gryffin calls ‘PULSE’ a “return to why I fell in love with dance music in the first place” and adds that “this is the most creatively inspired I’ve felt in years.” He also thanked fans for their “endless support” and welcomed them to “the new era.” His wife, Steph Griffith, commented on the post to warn fans, “GET READY TO DANCE,” and speculate that a well-deserved Grammy award may be in her husband’s future.

Gryffin wasted no time in making another exciting announcement as well, taking to Instagram again the next day with a sneak peek of his upcoming single. “LAST OF US” with British pop icon Rita Ora will drop on February 16th as the first official single for ‘PULSE.’ The new collab already has the stamp of approval of at least one Gryffin fan: the London cab driver Kenny who the duo treated to a surprise preview in the announcement video.

If “LAST OF US” is any indication, Gryffin may be in his progressive house era for ‘PULSE.’ His most recent two singles, “Oceans” and “Dreams,” support this theory, although they have not been confirmed to appear on the new project. While much of Gryffin’s work on his previous albums leans more towards future bass, many house bangers can be found as well: “Remember” with ZOHARA, “Baggage” with Gorgon City and AlunaGeorge, “Evergreen” with Au/Ra, and so on.

It’ll be interesting to see Gryffin’s “new sound” come into focus leading up to the release of ‘PULSE’ this spring or summer. Check out some of his all-time greatest hits below as we await the release of “LAST OF US.”
