Inside Spotify’s Best New Artist Party Ahead of the Grammy’s

The Best New Artist Party hosted by Spotify was full of budding talent at this year’s Grammy’s.

This year’s Grammy’s Best New Artist category was full of favorites that blew up on TikTok and others who had a breakout year of music releases. The Best New Artist category spanned multiple categories from pop and country to R&B. As fans argue online about their artist of choice, it was all smiles in the Best New Artist Party hosted by Spotify.

Each of the artists walked the red carpet before going to the party. Up-and-coming DJ Fred Again.. is one of the dance artists nominated in the category. He most recently collaborated with Baby Keem on the single “leavemealone.” Fans highly sought out the drum & bass single after it was performed in Edinburgh before its official release.

Fred Again… is nominated for four Grammys this year in various categories. He is nominated in the Best Dance/Electronic Recording category for “Strong” featuring Romy. Other nominees in the category also include Disclosure, James Blake, and Skrillex. Other nominees in the Best New Artist category include Gracie Abrams, Ice Spice, Jelly Roll, Coco Jones, Noah Kahan, Victoria Monét, and The War and Treaty.

Each Best New Artist nominee had their chance to perform on stage at the party. Genre-crossing artist Jelly Roll performed an unexpected duet with fellow nominee Lainey Wilson. Coco Jones gave a captivating performance of songs from her latest project “What I Didn’t Tell You” featuring her hit single “ICU.”

Award-winning singer and songwriter Victoria Monét also hit the stage performing some of the viral choreography to tracks from her album “Jaguar ll.” Her stage performance was equipped with her signature brown ensemble and stage fan. Her performance of “On My Mama” was complete with sparkly snapbacks and non-stop early 2000’s inspired dance moves.

With the conclusion of a sold-out headlining tour, this could be a monumental year for the British DJ. This is the artist’s first time being entered into the Top Dance/Electronic Album category. Fans can see the full list of Grammy winners on The Recording Academy website.
