Tiësto to Become the First DJ to Play the Super bowl

Tiësto is the first DJ to perform throughout the Super Bowl experience from start to finish.

This year’s Super Bowl LVIII is full of firsts. It will be the first time the nationally celebrated event will be hosted in Las Vegas and the first time an EDM DJ will be included in the festivities beyond the pregame. This year’s Super Bowl LVIII pregame and breaks will feature EDM DJ and producer Tiësto.

The Grammy award-winning DJ will be following in the steps of other big names in the music game with a pregame Super Bowl LVIII set. Other popular DJs across a number of different genres have also played at the Super Bowl LVIII pregame show in the past. Zedd, DJ Khaled, and DJ Snake have all played pregame sets at past games.

As the players settle into Allegiant Stadium, Tiësto will be warming up the audience for the long-awaited game on February 11th. He will also be playing for football fans during the breaks in the game. Parts of his set are also expected to be broadcasted on CBS. Fans can also watch Tiësto’s Super Bowl performance on his social media accounts.

This milestone is one of many for the chart-topping artist. Tiësto has performed in some of the biggest music festivals including Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Ultra Music Festival, and Kappa Futurfestival. He will also be embarking on a multi-venue residency in clubs across Las Vegas this year.

His most recent album ‘Drive’ has been met with critical acclaim. The concept-led album explores the world of race car racing in its visuals. The album featured a familiar but refreshing sound for the dance floor.

The countdown to the Super Bowl still has football fans making their bets and wearing their jerseys for the team of their choice before the big game. For those more into the performances, legendary R&B artist Usher will be headlining the Super Bowl halftime show.  Whether you are a fan of the game or not, adding a glimpse of the dance music world to the Super Bowl experience is a win for the dance music community.

Hi! My name is Destine and I found a love for House and EDM through my time in the NYC dance community. My favorite thing about music is how it brings people together without having to say a word. Some of my favorite artists include Kaytranada, Kelela, Shygirl, and Uncle Waffles.
