Defected Records Unveils Brand New Podcast Series Hosted by Monki

Defected Records has announced it is launching a podcast to showcase artists and their stories.

The British independent house music record label said it is excited to offer a new listening experience through the podcast to its Defected family. The podcast will be hosted by resident DJ and presenter Monki and will run alongside the brand’s weekly radio show. The date for the first episode will be announced soon.

The announcement came in an Instagram video that was captioned: “‘Moments In Music’ will be your go-to podcast to hear in-depth conversations with legends of House Music and club culture. Look out for episode one dropping very soon…” Defected Records has a huge presence with a whopping 1.2 million followers on Instagram as well which adds to the podcast’s high expectations.

Monki spoke in the video and said: “What’s up defected family it’s Monki here and I’m thrilled to be delivering you some news that we will be launching a brand new podcast.” She explained Moments in Music will get to know its guests through the records that define them.

Viewers of the podcast should expect familiar faces, legends of the dancefloor, and unexpected characters that just love music, Monki said. Along with that, on the podcast, they will listen to the records that shaped the guest’s lives while they tell their stories.

Defected Records was voted the best record label in 2022 and have signed major artists including Jamie Jones, Claptone, John Summit, Vintage Culture, CamelPhat, and MK. The record label also started running its own events in Miami, Denver, Croatia, Austria, Dubai Malta, and more.

In October, Defected Records also announced a collaboration with The Circuit Group, a new venture from management companies Sevenn20 and AYITA which works with other major names including deadmau5, Chris Lake, and Nero. The two said they decided to collaborate to help expand their operations across the U.K. and North America.

I remember hearing Edm for the first time and thinking I knew this type of music would change my life. I love all genres and the art that goes behind it all. You can catch me dancing to a wide range of tunes.
