Exron Exclusive Interview: Ravenscoon

Exron Music had the pleasure of sitting down with Ravenscoon ahead of his Webster Hall headline debut on his Periphery Tour.

Ravenscoon, also known as Paul is a national treasure. Exron Music had the delight of sitting down with Paul ahead of his Periphery tour which is a wub-centric show at Webster Hall to get to know a little bit more about the incredibly talented and humble artist who is taking the bass scene by storm.

Throughout the interview, we were lucky enough to dive into the fun on tour and the social programs he supports most. Ravenscoon is an avid supporter of ending homelessness, keeping reproductive rights, and providing light for sober ravers.

Exron Music got the lowdown from Paul on how he gathers his inspiration, how he came up with the name Ravenscoon (fair warning it isn’t because he loves ravens and raccoons), and how he spends his free time and preps his studio for creativity. We were also able to get insight into how Paul gives back to the community in more than one way, beautiful trippy webs and more importantly, staying involved in programs he holds close to his heart.

Conversation flowed freely as Paul has an incredibly welcoming nature which feels like talking to an old friend. Sober-curious is a term heard a lot more in the scene now as more ravers are focusing on what makes them feel good, we spoke about Paul’s journey to sobriety and what advice he may give for those thinking about beginning a sobriety journey or those struggling with addiction.

On a lighter note, we also discussed what would be a requirement if he held his own festival, and the answer, was laughed out loud funny. Getting to know Ravenscoon and the man behind the stage name, Paul was a delightful experience and Exron Music could not be more excited to see what is to come musically and creatively for Paul.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
