Daft Punk Joins Billion Streams Club on Spotify with ‘Get Lucky’

Daft Punk has achieved yet another huge accomplishment as its 2013 hit “Get Lucky” has joined Spotify’s elite playlist, the Billions Club.

One of the most legendary artists in the electronic dance scene has joined the elite. Yep, that is right, the iconic French duo Daft Punk has achieved yet another victory. But what might that victory be? Well, their timeless hit “Get Lucky” has officially entered the Billions Club on Spotify. 

Certainly, any electronic dance fan knows the legends that are Daft Punk. The iconic duo consisting of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter has been leading the electronic music scene since the 1990s. From their memorable futuristic helmets and their 2006 Alive tour, this duo is one every fan wished they could experience once. Truly a duo who left an unforgettable mark on the music industry. 

But, unfortunately, the duo split back in 2021. However, their music lives forever. This is just what the continued success of “Get Lucky” on streaming platforms like Spotify proves. Surely showing the ongoing legacy of Daft Punk lives on. And hey, maybe this new achievement will spark a reunion! 

“Get Lucky” was the first single released from the Daft Punk studio album, ‘Random Access Memories,’ which was released in 2013. The album marked a departure from the duo’s earlier sound. But, it embraced a more disco and funk-inspired aesthetic. On the track, they collaborated with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers which both bring a unique groove to the track. 

The track certainly provides a sense of funk and groove to all listeners. So, it is no surprise the track earned this milestone. The hit song “Get Lucky” reached over a billion streams on Spotify as of December 21st while continuing to climb. This playlist includes only a select group of artists. Notable members of the club include Billie Eilish, Post Malone, and Calvin Harris, just to name a few. So, Daft Punk’s entry into this elite circle deserves all the applause.
