Exron Exclusive Interview: Azzecca

Exron Music had the pleasure of sitting down with Azzecca ahead of her Sessions Show at Kings Hall in Brooklyn.

Exron Music had the pleasure of sitting down with Azzecca before her show in Brooklyn last week! Taking the interview from her hotel room, we were able to get the low down on her creative process, what’s coming next for the tech house artists, and what some of her social feeds look like.

Azzecca, a Chicago-based producer has dropped some major bangers in the past few months ranging from ‘U Fool,” “Tell That Boy,” and most recently, her remix to Rex The Dog’s smash “Change This Pain For Ecstasy.” Her most recent release was dropped last Friday on all streaming platforms.

We spoke about the exciting chaos that has been her year, from sold-out shows and a wedding to Kye of Gorgon City! Azzecca’s commitment to furthering the aspirations of women in the industry is also evident in her passion for the Chicago house scene. Here she hosts Dirty Disco, an event for women where they can show up and show out without the sometimes unsettling vibe of a nightclub. We were able to connect about her plans as an artist and how she motivates herself creatively, how she takes time for herself to chill out, and how she can pump herself up before a show or while relaxing at home.

Between sharing a few laughs and getting to know Azzecca as an artist, she is truly one to watch as she continuously gives back. After the interview and before the show, she posted up at a local bar near the venue, bought 15 pizzas for fans, and posted on her social ever so casually for all to come through. Word traveled fast, and many fans showed up. Taking careful time to connect and meet her fans is something that not many artists do and it was refreshing to see.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
