Fans Divided Over Peggy Gou’s New Single with Lenny Kravitz

Peggy Gou’s new single has been met with mixed reviews from fans.

Criticism comes with releasing art to a public audience, but Peggy Gou’s new single has received its fair share of public discourse in the past month. Titled “I Believe In Love Again,” the track features legendary artist Lenny Kravitz and was released on November 8th.

When the song dropped, fans took to her comments to express their opinions on the track. User @curtlopezuk5d commented that he “Love(s) this song. All these haters are narrow-minded.” And while he was one of the few positive remarks on Peggy’s post, most of the comments on her posts about the track in the last month have been negative.

On her recent Instagram about the collaboration, user @iamgutek6d said, “I love Lenny, he’s simply exceptional, but you flopped this opportunity so bad.” The comment has received over 220 likes of people agreeing to this comment about how she had wasted potential with this collaboration.

Aside from the criticism on social media, Peggy was announced last month as the number 1 house DJ in the world on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2023. What helped skyrocket her success was the viral release of the lead single “(It Goes Like) Nanana” for her upcoming debut album. And while that song was a well-received hit, fans anticipated her next song to be as good.

With the criticism surrounding her new song from fans, the DJ handled the situation professionally by ignoring the negative remarks. Last month, when she posted about being the first woman in over 20 years to be in the top 10 of DJ Mag, she said, “It’s always nice to be recognized, but don’t take other people’s opinions too seriously. Many people told me I would never be successful unless I did what they told me.” It seems like she has been able to apply this motto in all aspects of her career.

Peggy has a few shows left to close out the year, with her performing at a New Year’s Eve party at Rna Brisbane Showgrounds in Australia. If you are in the area and would like to go to a festival for NYE, limited tickets are still available for purchase here. Decide if you vibe with the new track by listening to it on any platform where music is available.
