INZO Reveals New Three-Tracker ‘SIDEQUEST’ Featuring Special Collaboration with LSDREAM

Rising bass producer INZO has dipped his toe into house music with his new EP On Lowly Records.

Denver-based artist INZO (Mike Inzano) is best known for the cutting-edge bass music that has fueled his meteoric rise in the EDM world. But with his latest release, he’s treating fans to something a little different. INZO has dropped ‘SIDEQUEST,’ a three-track EP that puts his signature spin on house music.

The EP begins with “Bass In Yo Face,” a smooth, bass-forward house song that had been released as a single back in October. Wakaan festival b2b partner LSDREAM joins for “Dopamine,” integrating a fascinating array of dubstep-leaning soundscapes into grippingly intense house notes. Lastly, the aptly named “Funky Fusion” closes things out with a groovy, energetic track that could fit right in on a Griz album.

Undoubtedly, ‘SIDEQUEST’ sounds markedly different from INZO’s previous releases, such as his July 2023 atmospheric bass EP ‘Earth Magic.’ Even the cover art trades in colorful, organic landscapes for black-and-white geometric patterns a la G Jones. However, INZO assured fans that this shift is not permanent in an Instagram post where he announced the project.

“No, I am not ‘changing genres’ (which I never box myself into one anyways) or am only making house music,” he wrote. “This is ‘sidequest’ by name.. sidequest by nature. I wanted to revisit making house music for fun since it was the first sort of electronic music I started to make when I was trying to navigate the production side of things… I really just wanted to do a project that felt fun & not too introspective.”

INZO also noted in that post that he will be playing ‘SIDEQUEST’ house sets at select stops on his 2024 ‘VISIONQUEST’ tour. The tour will make 39 stops across the United States and Canada, with support from the likes of Moore Kismet, Smoakland, and Tape B.
