Barclay Crenshaw Announces 2024 Tour After Retiring Claude VonStroke Project

Longtime House music artist Claude VonStroke has announced a 2024 tour as Barclay Crenshaw, his bass music alter ego.

Claude VonStroke recently performed as Barclay Crenshaw at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado in support of the bass artist Of the Trees. The Barclay Crenshaw sound has futuristic and bass elements that separate the artistry from Claude VonStroke

The artist’s forthcoming ‘Open Channel’ tour will further explore this fresh sound. The new album ‘Open Channel’ is set to be released in the spring of next year. The album is expected to include the track “Blue Mile ft. Strategy” featuring Of the Trees which was released a few days ago. The track is a bass-heavy, thumping beat where the vocals ride the bass and complement the production seamlessly.

Fans can expect more music leading up to the tour. The next single “Big In The Game” is expected to be released in January of next year. The track has vocals from UK artists Snowy and Manga Saint Hilare.

The album is inspired by the fusion between hip hop and bass elements at clubs like Los Angeles’ Low End Theory and the underground bass music scene. Barclay Crenshaw has hinted at his time in the studio with other hip-hop artists on social media as well leading up to the shift in focus from Claude VonStroke to Barclay Crenshaw.

The new album was not formulated overnight. Barclay spent 80 days crafting this new creative persona and finding the right sound. Barclay Crenshaw is one small part of how Claude VonStroke hopes to champion the spirit of innovation in the dance music scene.

The tour is expected to explore new sensory and visual experiences for audiences as well. Barclay is collaborating with New D Media Arts founder Gabriel Hall, also known as LightBender, to bring the vision of ‘Open Channel’ to life. The tour will kick off in March at Webster Hall in New York City. Fans can purchase tickets here.

Hi! My name is Destine and I found a love for House and EDM through my time in the NYC dance community. My favorite thing about music is how it brings people together without having to say a word. Some of my favorite artists include Kaytranada, Kelela, Shygirl, and Uncle Waffles.
