Purple Disco Machine Releases Iconic Remix for The Rolling Stones’ Single ‘Mess It Up’

Classic rock and electronic dance music have converged as The Rolling Stones share a remix of “Mess It Up” by Purple Disco Machine.

The Rolling Stones came together over 60 years ago and have had an undeniable impact on music, especially rock. The band’s 26th American studio album, ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ promptly hit number one in 19 countries and has sold over 500 million copies since its release in October. Now, Purple Disco Machine has injected the album’s seventh track, “Mess It Up,” with his upbeat, groovy disco. 

“Mess It Up” has the classic Stones’ sound with its gritty, blues-rock style. Purple Disco Machine has transformed the song by layering Jagger’s iconic vocals on top of a funky beat, a prominent piano, and synthesizers. The remix has brought two styles of music together in a way that both communities can dance to. 

Globally-loved DJ, Purple Disco Machine, has done his part in rejuvenating disco with his remixes and own discography. The opportunity for the producer to remix a song by The Rolling Stones is appropriate considering the time period that the producer pulls his inspiration from. He expressed that he is proud of the remix and called the experience an honor.

Purple Disco Machine first teased his take on “Mess It Up” at the XX Neon Planet Festival. Attendees danced and clapped their hands with the DJ as he dropped the remix. Since its official release, the reception has stayed consistent.  

The producer has been playing internationally over the last few months and is performing at the end of December. The Rolling Stones recently announced their ‘Hackney Diamond’ North American tour in the summer of 2024.
