Techno Icons Nicole Moudaber and Chris Liebing Collaborate on Massive Two-Tracker

Their ‘I Will Be A Devil Until I Am An Angel’ EP has been released on Chris Liebing’s CLR Imprint.

Lebanese DJ-producer Nicole Moudaber and German DJ-producer Chris Liebing have remixed each other’s songs multiple times and have played several back-to-back sets together over the years. It seemed only a matter of time before the two techno legends officially collaborated, and that time has finally arrived. The two have just released a two-track EP, ‘I Will Be A Devil Until I Am An Angel,’ on Liebing’s CLR imprint.

Each song on the new EP runs nearly eight minutes, with minimalist intros and outros sandwiching hypnotic frenzies of claps and drums. “Watch Me Choose You” and “When You Are Near” add some intrigue by incorporating some acid soundscapes to their already high-intensity arrangements. Both tracks could fit right in either on a small underground dance floor or at a massive stadium rave.

Nicole and Chris each bring their own unique elements and techniques to the techno table, and these new songs meld the two together seamlessly. “This new EP represents our collective creative and musical taste, and it’s already been tried and tested in clubs and festivals… mamma mia is all I can say,” says Nicole. “We couldn’t be happier, it’s the result of our individual DJ and production styles and what we feel has the most impact on the dancefloor,” says Chris.

After getting into the industry as a promoter in the 1990s, Nicole Moudaber started listening to Chris Liebing’s music in the mid-2000s as she began to produce her own. “I remember being on the dance floor at Space Ibiza and feeling totally transported by his music, dancing until the lights came on,” she says. “Fast forward to 2016, and I find myself playing b2b with him on a regular basis all over the world. His sound resonates with me on such a deep level because it can put you in a trance, and now we’ve collaborated in the studio, too.”

It’s clear that Nicole and Chris act as each other’s muses when it comes to music, and their newest two-track EP is proof of that. Techno fans can expect more collaborations and back-to-back sets from these two for years to come.
