Inside the 2024 Dance/Electronic Grammy Nominations

The iconic Grammy Awards has officially announced its dance and electronic nominees for 2024 with huge names including Skrillex, Disclosure, and more.

2024 marks the 66th year of the Grammy Awards ceremony and the nominations for dance music are a mix of first-timers and producers that have been nominated in the past. The Recording Academy has included three awards for electronic music.

Nominees for “Best Dance/Electronic Recording” include “Loading” by James Blake and “Higher Than Ever Before” by Disclosure. Two songs by Fred again.., “Strong” with Romy and “Rumble” with Skrillex and Flowdan, have been nominated for best recording. “Blackbox Life Recorder 21F” by Aphex Twin has also been chosen for the category.

The “Best Dance/Electronic Music Album” category has a nomination for ‘Kx5‘ by Kaskade and deadmau5. ‘Quest for Fire,’ the album that marked Skrillex’s return to music, has been included in the category too. Skrillex has previously won eight Grammys and holds the most out of any electronic music producer.

Fred Again..’s ‘Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022)’ has been nominated, making three nominations that the producer has collected in 2024. On top of the electronic music categories, Fred again.. has been nominated for “Best New Artist.” James Blake and The Chemical Brothers have also earned a spot for the best electronic album

The category “Best Pop Dance Recording” has been added to this year’s ceremony. Singer Troye Sivan has received his first Grammy nomination for “Rush” and David Guetta received two nominations for songs with Anne-Marie and Coi Leray, as well as Bebe Rexha. “Miracle” by Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding has a spot in the new category, along with Kylie Minogue’s “Padam Padam.”
