ILLENIUM Drops Cover of The Cranberries “Zombie” Featuring Excision and Wooli

Illenium has teamed up with Excision, Wooli, and Valerie Broussard for a bass-filled cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.”

Illenium has recently delved into the pop-rock side of melodic bass, so covering the alternative rock band is not too far away from his current sound. The song has created a fantastic reflection of each artist’s sound while still blending together cohesively. The cover of “Zombie” flows through the styles that Illenium, Excision, and Wooli have created for their independent releases.

The beginning of “Zombie” has distinct Illenium details with an atmospheric melodic dubstep drop. After the music has become distorted and filled with electric guitars, the second drop comes in with choppy bass and mechanical sounds. Broussard’s powerful vocals have added emotion to the cover as it comes to a cinematic finish.

“Zombie” by The Cranberries was first released in 1994 and ended up charting at number one in several countries. The remix of “Zombie” does the song justice, keeping its original sound prominent with the addition of electronic music elements.

The trio are no strangers to working together and are steadily releasing collaborations. As some of the biggest names in electronic music, Illenium, Excision, and Wooli tracks continue to be highly anticipated. Excision and Illenium previously worked together on “In My Mind,” released in 2021, and more recently, Wooli was featured in “You Were Right” on ‘ILLENIUM.’

The cover of “Zombie” comes after ‘ILLENIUM (Remixes),’ a 45-track compilation of remixes from the producer’s self-titled album. “Zombie” also follows a successful year for Illenium. In 2023, Illenium embarked on his largest headline tour and put on Trilogy: Colorado, which went on to break national records.

Illenium has changed the game and continues to do so. Watch the official lyrics video for Illenium, Excision, and Wooli’s cover of “Zombie” here:
