Kai Wachi has achieved 9 years of sobriety and shares the key to staying abstinent.

Kai Wachi has celebrated 9 years of sobriety and has shared his gratitude for life on Instagram. In a new post, he has highlighted how it is achievable to be in the music industry and still have a good time sober.

Included in Kai Wachi’s message, is a video of him at the gym showing off his muscles alluding to the idea that working out has been a huge part of the reason he has stayed true to his sobriety.  In an industry where partying is all around you, being able to keep in touch with his sobriety is nothing short of impressive.

Year after year, Kai Wachi has posted on social media celebrating his sobriety date. In his 7th year of sobriety, he took to Instagram to share the key to a successful sober life which is by trading “using for inescapable amounts of body dysmorphia.”

It is safe to say that Kai Wachi has transformed his life and physique with fitness. He has kept a healthy body and mindset, though the transformation started when he was in prison back in 2015.

Right out of high school, Kai Wachi was signed onto Canabalt Records – the record label that he is still releasing music today. As an 18-year-old, new to the music industry, he started to travel and party at a young age.

He eventually was introduced to opioids which he explained was a “demon.” He spoke in an interview with his trainer Kris Gethin highlighting his sobriety and what it took for him to get there. Kai Wachi was sentenced to prison for 2 years with a drug possession charge and describes that it was the moment when everything changed for him.

When in prison he told himself that he “need[ed] to destroy who I am currently and rebuild myself to the person that I want to become.” From then on, Kai Wachi was able to turn one addiction into another and got into fitness to keep a healthy body and mind.

After 9 years, Kai Wachi celebrates the incredible journey he has gone through as he still dominates the dubstep scene. He recently dropped his new single “Skull Machine” with Black Tiger Sex Machine and Wasiu – which can be streamed everywhere now!

My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
