Groove Cruise Announces Charity Initiatives and Over 50 Artist Hosted Activities for 20th Anniversary

The sold-out cruise ship festival is soon taking off for its 20th-anniversary edition and has recently announced official charity initiatives and artist-hosted activities.

This year is a special one for Groove Cruise as it hosts its completely sold-out 20th anniversary edition in January 2024. From January 24th to January 28th, Groove Cruise attendees will be setting sail from Miami to the private island of Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas aboard the festival’s most lavish cruise ship to date, the Norwegian Encore.

Aside from the cruise festival’s 96 hours of nonstop electronic dance music, Groove Cruise is also proud to provide attendees with a wide array of activities to give back to the community and create a wholesome environment throughout the course of the festival. Now that only a few months remain until Groove Cruise officially sets sail for its 20th anniversary, the festival just unveiled all charity projects, mental health initiatives, and artist-hosted activities in collaboration with Whet Travel’s Whet Foundation.

Groove Cruise is widely recognized for its unparalleled immersive programming year after year. In addition to the festival’s daily themes with curated parties and beachside destination soirées, the Whet Foundation’s recently announced volunteer opportunities and charity initiatives are also a tremendous part of the cruise festival’s all-encompassing daily programming.

The Whet Foundation came to life all thanks to Whet Travel and Groove Cruise’s founder Jason Beukema, with the intention to heavily impact the communities visited by all Whet Travel cruise events. For Groove Cruise’s upcoming 2024 edition, the non-profit organization will partake in both recurring and newly initiated experiences to thoroughly connect and leave a positive impact on the communities in the Bahamas that the cruise ship bypasses.

Groove Cruise organizers are thrilled to bring back Destination Donation to give back to the community of the island of Great Harbour located just a quick ride away from Great Stirrup Cay. Those who volunteer will directly give back to the only school on the island, and will also pay a visit to the Revival Time Highway Church of God to assist with the reconstruction of the church. Volunteers will also be able to directly gift donation items of choice to the island’s children and properly engage with the rest of the island’s community of beautiful humans.

Mental health initiatives will also be a huge part of this year’s Groove Cruise programming. The festival has partnered up with When The Music Stops to present the “Nightlife & The Balance of Life” artist-hosted panel, “The Power of Journaling” workshop, and “GC History Fireside Chat” in collaboration with Rave Culture Cast. Neon Owl will also return to this year’s sailing, where they will be hosting the “Behind The Artist Talk” and “Speed Networking & Industry Connections” panel.

Groove Cruise also recently announced a plethora of specially curated artist-hosted activities that will be taking place throughout the course of the weekend. To partake in all the fun, attendees must first donate to the Whet Foundation to be selected to participate in their favorite artists’ activities. Some intriguing artist-hosted activities for this upcoming Groove Cruise sail include a bar crawl with MiTiS, Mario Kart racing with VNSSA and Lilly Palmer, an NBA 2K tournament with Gene Farris, and yoga with LP Giobbi among many others.

It’s safe to say that Groove Cruise is more than just a dance music festival cruise. It allows its attendees to truly bask in a magnitude of incomparable life experiences that many other existing music festivals are unable to offer.
